Featuring works by 350 regional, national & international visual/multidisciplinary artists at 24 downtown locations, including DefSup, commercial spaces, art galleries, artist studios, and empty spaces transformed into new venues. One of the largest presentations of visual & media arts, unique to Thunder Bay, with over 15,000 sq.ft. of combined exhibition spaces! See “Wearable Art” in window spaces, 7 live bands & DJ’s, world dance, fire & glow spinning street performances, film screenings, drag & hip hop dance performances, video projections, street art, fringe theatre/music, and enjoy catered refreshments by Sweet Escape Cake Cafe & Bakery, Sushi Bowl, The Sweet North Bakery and so much more! Start at DefSup [250 Park Ave.], pick up your Art Map and let Performative Tour Guides show you the way! Gala Opening Features
-Visiting Artist Talk by Michael Belmore at 7:30pm @ DefSup. First tours of the evening, leave the gallery shortly thereafter. You can join or leave a tour anytime during the Opening.
-Wearable Art Window Performances at: Hill City Comics, Ahnisnabae Art Gallery, Mars.Clothing, The Loop and the McKitrick-Callon Bldg.
-Flamenco & Bhangra (East Indian) dance by World Dance Centre, fringe theatre/music by ShamanZen by Elliott Doxtater-Wynn, persian-themed art+window performance by Betty Carpick, film screenings, video projections, street art, catered refreshments by Sweet Escape Cake Cafe & Bakery, Sushi Bowl, The Sweet North Bakery & more!
